Dan’s 60 Summers Gala

In 1960, Dan Rattiner published his first paper in Montauk, and every year since, Dan’s Papers has been capturing the spirit of The Hamptons. Celebrating its 60th summer – and Dan Rattiner’s 80th birthday – in 2019, Dan’s Papers invites everyone to go back to where it all started. Taking place at Gurney’s Star Island Resort + Marina, the 60 Summers Gala will showcase the finest food and wine of Montauk and The Hamptons from beloved restaurants while toasting to an incredible history and 60 more years to come!
Extremely limited seating is available for what will be an unforgettable multi-course pairing dinner and after party, all celebrating Dan’s Papers and honoring its fabled founder.

Guild Hall’s Annual Summer Gala – Celebrating Ugo Rondinone: Sunny Days

Our Summer Gala is the event of the Hamptons social season. Each year, more than 500 people join us for this lively fête. The evening starts with an exclusive preview of our exhibition Ugo Rondinone: Sunny Days. You’re then invited to a private location to enjoy a beautiful evening of cocktails, dinner, and live entertainment. The night finishes with an after party lounge including drinks, desserts, and a packed dance floor.

The evening is Emceed by Bob Colacello, the former Editor-in-Chief of Interview and one of Andy Warhol’s closest creative collaborators. The Host Committee features luminaries such as Brooke Shields and Julianne Moore and the Artist Committee includes icons Cindy Sherman, Laurie Anderson, and Tony Oursler. The evening is a visual and choral ode to the radiant work of Rondinone.

The Clamshell Foundation’s 17th Annual Sandcastle Contest

The 1st Annual East Hampton Sandcastle Contest took place on August 26, 1992 at the Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett, NY. The idea for this event came from The Clamshell Foundation founder, Rossetti Perchik, A.I.A., when he was living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. and witnessed a Sandcastle Contest on the banks of the Arkansas River. After moving back to East Hampton in 1987, Perchik couldn’t imagine that – with some of the best beaches in the world – why there wasn’t a Sandcastle Contest here.
Initially there weren’t any rules, but over the years it became clear that a few were needed. Such as only indigenous materials may be used in the final sand sculptor, no power tools are allowed and you can’t build in front of the Lifeguard stands or go into the dunes.
Groups were established so children weren’t competing against adults. The size of each group was limited to 6 so there wasn’t one person competing against a group of 20. From the very beginning $10 was charged for each group and it remains that way today with no charge for the spectators. It is one of our favorite days of the year and we hope to see you at the contest this year!

15th Annual Authors Night To Benefit East Hampton Library

Authors Night is a lavish fundraiser to benefit the East Hampton Library. Beginning in 2005 with a handful of dinners and a few hundred attendees, it has grown to be the premier literary event of the Hamptons with 100 authors and more than 2,500 people in attendance. Founding Honorary Chair: Alec Baldwin.
Enjoy fabulous hors d’oeuvres and wine. Meet your favorite authors, buy their books and have them inscribed. Bid on some fun items at the silent auction. The most recent titles for each author will be available for purchase at the event. Every title – past and present – written by our guest authors can be inscribed at the event. Don’t forget to bring your books with you to have them inscribed! The proceeds of the books purchased at the event go directly to the Library as a donation.
You’re in for a wonderful surprise when you join the party at a lovely home in The Hamptons. You get to choose your party. All dinner guests automatically receive an entry ticket to the Authors Reception. Parties will be announced when invitations are mailed.

71st Artists and Writers Annual Charity Softball Game

Artists, writers, celebrities and fans will gather once again to compete in the Annual Artists and Writers Celebrity Softball Game – the longest running charity event in The Hamptons! Thousands have come to watch the celebs battle it out on the ball field to raise money for East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care Learning Center, Phoenix House of Long Island and The Retreat. The game’s hall of fame includes: Alan Alda, Ken Auletta, Alec Baldwin, Ben Bradlee, Carl Bernstein, Steven Breyer, Josh Charles, Bill Clinton, Charles Gwathmey, Chevy Chase, Christie Brinkley, Willem de Kooning, Mark Feuerstein, Eli Wallach, Ed Burns, Kristin Davis, B Smith, Matthew Broderick, Rod Gilbert, James Lipton, Marty Lyons, Mike Lupica, Jackson Pollock, Paul Simon, Peter Jennings, Juliet Papa, Regis Philbin, Lori Singer, Roy Scheider, Dick Cavett, Yogi Berra, Donny Deutsch, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Rudy Giuliani, Jim Leyritz, Jean Reno and Mort Zuckerman.

Bow Wow Meow Ball

Celebrate with us as we honor Isaac Mizrahi with the Champion of Animals Award at this year’s Bow Wow Meow Ball. Each October since 2010, Isaac has been an enthusiastic ambassador for ARF’s Stroll to the Sea Dog Walk, which he calls his “favorite event of the year.” He first participated as the emcee for our popular contests, like the infamous Pooch Who Can Smooch, and every year since then he has created the artwork for the Dog Walk’s invitation and for our much-sought-after Dog Walk t-shirts. Isaac’s warmth and wit are the perfect match for the spirit of the Walk.
Cocktails + Dinner + Dancing to the Peter Duchin Orchestra, a silent and a live auction all make for an evening to remember + benefit ARF’s life-saving mission.

24th Annual Ellen’s Run 5K Race/Walk Day

A 5K race / walk community event benefiting the Ellen Hermanson Breast Centers and Ellen’s Well. The money raised provides screenings and support services here on the East End. Runners, walkers, women, men, children, and families welcome! Rain or shine.

18th Annual Box Art Auction to Benefit East End Hospice

Prominent artists from our community incorporate either a wine box or a cigar box to create unique, collectible works of art which will be included in either the silent or live auction. All proceeds will benefit East End Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill patients, their families and loved ones living on the North and South Forks of Long Island, including the Eastern Suffolk County townships of Brookhaven.

6th Annual Summerfest – Culinary Arts Festival to Benefit the Southampton Arts Center

SummerFest is SAC’s premier annual event, raising nearly a half-million dollars, to support world-class exhibitions and 200-plus programs annually, many of which are free of charge. Attendees will enjoy signature dishes from the most celebrated chefs on the East End plus DJ and dancing under the stars on the historic grounds of 25 Jobs Lane.
Proceeds from the event will allow the center to expand their efforts to provide film, music, dance, theater, children’s events, lectures and literary series, further enhancing the vibrancy of The Hamptons’ community through the arts. Southampton Arts Center provides a dynamic venue to present the highest quality programming to our entire community through partnerships with a diverse slate of world-class artists, performers, educators and cultural institutions.

Summer Benefit for the Shinnecock Tribe and the Shinnecock Presbyterian Church. Music and dance performances, arts, crafts, demonstrations, native foods, Sunset Fire Lighting, drum and dance contests. Dance special is the Men’s Fancy Traditional Smoke Dance.
