While winter approaches and the CoronaVirus Pandemic continues to surge elsewhere, the Village of East Hampton remains a safe haven as we await universal distribution of the vaccines. We are grateful to our guests who continue to honor us with their patronage and enjoy the hospitable refuge we offer at the Mill House Inn.
Perhaps the holiday season seems less festive than in previous years, and we all miss gathering with our friends and family, but what better place to escape to than the East End?
Remember – the beach is probably the safest place you can be – wide open spaces and an abundance of fresh air!
- East Hampton Village Beaches are open for all, including our dogs, and no permit is needed in the off-season
- Please wear a mask whenever you are unable to maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more, keep your dogs leashed within 300 feet of the road, and clean up after them
- We have plastic bags available in the office and there are dispensers and garbage receptacles at most beach parking lots
- We also have beach towels if Fido insists on body surfing or diving for clams!
East Hampton Town Beaches are still closed to non-residents because of the pandemic. But if you and your dog yearn for the relative calm of a bay or harbor beach, be sure to explore Suffolk County’s Northwest Harbor Park (no permit required)
There are also museums, galleries, and many virtual events to enjoy while you are here. Let us know what you are interested in and our Personal Assistants can help you plan your adventure. Wine Tastings? Horseback Riding? Deep-Sea Fishing? Hiking Trails and Bicycle Rentals…
And SHOPPING! (COVID-safe, of course.) Plan some time for your Holiday Shopping in our beautiful village. No crowds, great sales, and very special offerings for your very special friends and family.
East Hampton eateries continue to live up to their reputation for world-class dining, adapting gracefully to these uncertain times. Our Personal Assistants will gladly help you with information and reservations for local restaurants offering indoor and outside seating. Or consider ordering take-out which you can enjoy in your room.
- All of our suites have well-appointed dining areas
- If you are staying in a smaller room, please check with the front desk to request room service trays or other options.
- It may be too cold to eat at the picnic tables in our rose garden, but because of our enhanced sanitation and sterilization processes, we may be able to arrange for a table in our Dining Room – by reservation only, one party at a time
Suite Forty at the Mill House Inn
At the Mill House Inn we continue to constantly update our COVID-19 policies and procedures, following current NY State Covid-19 protocols and quarantine guidelines:
-
We have developed a seamless system of contactless check-in and check-out
-
Check-in balances will be charged on the evening prior to your arrival
-
Both staff and guests will have their temperature taken when arriving at the inn, and are required to wear masks in common areas inside at all times – and outside, whenever unable to maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more as required by East Hampton Town & NYS Law
-
Hand Sanitizer, Masks & Gloves are always available at the Front Desk
-
The MHI Dining Room will not be open during Covid-19. Breakfast is delivered picnic-style and left outside your door by appointment (between 8:30am and 11am). You are free to enjoy your picnic in your room, or – weather permitting – in our gardens, or at the beach.
-
We use deluxe disposable serving ware which is also available for all your in-room dining needs or that picnic at Main Beach!
-
-
Our famous ‘Nack Bar will not be stocked during the pandemic, but we have bottled water, fresh-made coffee, tea, popcorn, cookies, fruit & chips available for you on request
-
We change our air filters constantly and keep all common areas well ventilated
-
We use an electrostatic sprayer with a solution of Hypochlorus Acid (HOCl)
-
HOCl is an EPA approved natural disinfectant used in hospitals, medical facilities and food processing plants, safe for everyday use around people, plants and animals
-
Using the Electrostatic gun creates a positively charged disinfecting mist that will safely envelope large areas, covering the front, back and sides of porous and non-porous surfaces including electronics
-
-
Our common areas are sprayed regularly, and our housekeepers are constantly sanitizing all frequently touched surfaces
-
We spray each room after each guest checks out for our staff’s safety and again before new guests arrive for their safety
-
Our room key-cards and remote controls are disinfected using UV technology
-
All laundry – including blankets, pillow protectors, and duvet covers – are cleaned in hot water and sanitizer between each guest stay
-
Although we are not offering daily housekeeping on a regular basis during Covid-19, we will remove garbage from outside your door and deliver fresh towels and linens as requested
-
If you are staying with us 3 or more nights, housekeeping will be available on request, as long as it conforms with the NYS quarantine requirements
-
Even if quarantine is not required, please arrange for a window of at least 3 hours when you will be out of the room so we can spray the room before housekeepers enter, and again after they are finished and you return
-
If quarantine is required, please check with us regarding appropriate accommodations and procedures
-
