“I’ve lived in Sag Harbor since I was in the first grade,” says Sarah, who then moved with her family, but eventually, “came back to the small towns and harbors where I grew up.” Along with the beaches and picture-postcard streets, its “the people who have always made this place so amazing to me,” says Sarah. By that she means the locals who live in the Hamptons, the guests who visit, and also her fellow staff members. Like everyone else who works here, she describes her coworkers as family. But what impresses her most isn’t their friendliness, or skill (although she certainly appreciates Carolyn’s cooking, J’s coffee expertise, and Courtney’s wine wisdom). What really stood out to her when she joined the team as a Personal Assistant was finding the Mill House Inn to be “a place full of dedicated individuals who go above and beyond what is expected of them.” That’s pretty much the job description of a Personal Assistant, too—doing whatever it takes to make sure the Inn ends up feeling like home to its guests, as it does to its staff.
Below are Sarah’s recommendations for what not to miss when staying in your home away from home:
Favorite Beaches: Straight beach, Ocean Road Beach, Sagaponic, Truck Beach
Favorite Place to Go Out: 230 Down “to see friends whose bands play there, support a friend who does stand up, and play pool and darts.”
Favorite Foods: Goldberg’s bagels, Rowdy Hall’s fish & chips, Dockside’s chicken pot pie.
